Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh launched 75 newly developed AI products/technologies at the first-ever “AI in Defence” (AIDef) Symposium and Exhibition, hosted by the MoD on July 11, 2022. The products, launched as part of “ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations fall under various fields. These include AI platform automation; Autonomous/unmanned/robotic systems; Blockchain-based automation; Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; cyber security; human behavior analysis; intelligent monitoring systems; Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems; Logistics and supply chain management, operational data analysis; manufacturing and maintenance; Simulators/testing equipment and speech/voice analysis using natural language processing. The Raksha Mantri has also published a book containing the details of these 75 products showcasing the collective efforts made by DRDO, DPSUs, iDEX start-ups and private industry over the past four years in the field of AI. .
‘BIG BANG BOOM SOLUTIONS’ TO DELIVER AN ANTI-DRONE DEFENSE SYSTEM TO THE IAF
According to media reports, Chennai-based Big Bang Boom Solutions will start delivering its Anti-Drone Defense System (ADDS) to the IAF from August this year. This portable system can be operated by one person.
VISIT OF INS TARKASH TO DJIBOUTI AND SUDAN
The Indian Navy frigate INS Tarkash visited Djibouti as part of its long-term overseas deployment followed by a maritime partnership exercise with the Sudanese Navy. The ship is on deployment to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is due to coincide with Independence Day allowing her to hoist the tricolor in South America on occasion as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. INS Tarkash also conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise with Sudanese Navy ships Almazz and Nimer in the Red Sea near the Sudanese Naval Base on July 7, 2022. The exercise included maneuvers, refueling flight operations vertical, visit and boarding operations and communication procedures.
BRAZILIAN NAVY DELEGATION VISITS WESTERN NAVAL COMMAND
A delegation from the Brazilian Navy led by Liberal Vice Admiral Enio Zanelatto, Director of Industrial Production and Engineering, called on Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Naval Command, the July 11, 2022. The two senior officers discussed various matters of mutual interest, including submarine defense and technology, Make in India, professional cooperation initiatives between navies and the outlook for the navy India towards shared maritime interests with all like-minded navies/nations.
