North County Man Charged After CCTV Caught Walnut Park West Shooting | Law and order


ST. LOUIS – A man in northern St. Louis County was charged Thursday after police collected surveillance footage of a homicide in August in the Walnut Park West neighborhood.

Earl Love, 30, faces charges of first degree murder, illegal possession of a weapon and criminal action with a weapon in the shooting death of Stanford Morris, 45, of St. Charles County.

Police said in prosecution documents they seized surveillance footage showing Love exiting Morris’ car, entering the vehicle and shooting Morris before leaving the scene with a gun and bag.

Court documents add that further surveillance footage shows earlier that night Morris and Love left a bar together in the car and after the murder Morris’s phone appears to have gone to Love’s home .

Morris was killed at approximately 11:30 p.m. on August 25 in the 6000 block of Thekla Avenue, near Riverview Boulevard. He was found dead inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to his upper body, police said at the time.

Morris lived in the 200 block of Shirley Ridge Drive in unincorporated St. Charles County.

Love was denied bail on Thursday. He has previously been convicted of first-degree assault and armed criminal action, according to court documents.
