NASHVILLE, TN (WKRN) – A driver slammed into the front of a donut shop in Nashville early Friday morning – and the store’s surveillance cameras captured it all.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. at East Park Donuts and Coffee in the city’s East Nashville neighborhood.
CCTV footage shows the car turning left into the store’s parking lot before driving through the glass doors and coming to a stop.
No one was injured, including the driver of the sedan, according to owner Ken Woodard.
Woodard also said a pastry chef who arrived early Friday morning discovered the damage and informed him of the accident.
“My first reaction was, after hearing that no one had been hurt, was, ‘Well, we’ve got another mess to clean up.
Tube Police said the driver, Sarah Flowers, 29, was charged with driving under the influence.
Flowers reportedly told responding officers that she drank several IPA beers before the crash. She underwent a breathalyzer test, which Metro Police said was registered at 0.218 BAC, more than double the legal limit.
Crews at the donut shop were hard at work on Friday to replace doors ahead of Saturday’s reopening.
As for ways to help, Woodard suggested generously tipping the staff.
“When you walk in, just tip our employees nicely because they missed a day of work.”
